ABOUT

SOFAFRICA (spreading organic farming in Africa) is a registered non-governmental community based organization that focuses on ensuring continued learning and practice of Agro-Ecological Agriculture in rural communities for improved food and dietary conditions. 

It is a local non profit making organization created with an aim of promoting good health, sustainable social and economic development to marginalized or under privileged; enhance well conserved environment; work in climatic change resilience and food security; and to alleviate poverty and mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS and chronic illnesses through provision of educational, recreational and lifelong learning opportunities for vulnerable children and the youth.

The mission of SOFAFRICA is to promote interventions that build the wellbeing of under privileged people through capacity development, advocacy and impact mitigation and has a vision to see a community which is free from poverty, where every individual enjoys freedom and rights.

The organization’s main offices and demonstration center are located at Chuka Township, in Tharaka Nithi County.  It was founded in 2017.

AREAS OF OPERATION

SOFAFRICA is currently working in various counties Tharaka Nithi County, Meru County, Nairobi County, and others on consultancy on our Extension outreach services around the country and within East Africa.

VISION

SOFAFRICA envisions a just, self-reliant rural, urban and urban community which is social-economic and environmentally conscious and sustainable.

SOFAFRICA main focus is to work with the vulnerable communities and youth by building their livelihood capacities to alleviate poverty.
